The other side of the road

I quit complaining when I went to the hospital
There is so much pain within those walls
I saw suffering in mind and body
Sorry cases and much agony

For many the prognosis was dismal
For others it was already fatal
For some they would soon be gone
Their dreams and all, families left to mourn

I stepped out and saw life in full force
On the other side of the road so much fuss
People milling around, trading and all
Not bothered that the road was a great dividing wall

Good health is a gift from your Maker
More precious than gold, it does matter
For to be on the other side, within the hospital walls
You would appreciate what you have, words cannot tell it all
